A Blink of Ink...the Creative World of Jill Calder is a major retrospective of Jill's work, currently on show at Callendar House in Falkirk. The show runs from the 30th April to 11th September 2022 and admission is free!
This exhibition gives you a glimpse into Jill’s world from her beginnings at art college in Cumbria in the late 1980s to her current collaboration with English Heritage.
On display you will see a wide selection of Jill’s artwork from draft sketches through to published illustrations. Jill’s love of ink shines through in this exhibition and examples of her designs include editorial commissions, gallery work and book art.
Since 2011, Jill has immersed herself in the children’s book world and her first picturebook, ‘Robert the Bruce, King of Scots’ was shortlisted for the World Illustration Awards in 2015. In 2018 Jill was selected to be in ‘Drawing Words’, a major British Council children’s illustration exhibition, curated by Lauren Child.
